Set in the beautiful town of Cowaramup, Western Australia this project seeks to create an affordable family home with strong, integrated sustainable design initiatives, drawing on the beautiful landscape and views of the site. A further connection is made the throughout the internal living spaces via a continued circulation spine seamlessly blurring the boundary between inside and out.

This single level house is orientated with its primary elevation facing north. This allows the living spaces to be positioned to the north of the dwelling allowing for greater solar gain, natural lighting and uninterrupted views of the lush green landscape Cowaramup has to offer.

A rammed earth 'spine' running through the centre of the home incorporates a fireplace which warms the house in winter, with the rammed earth absorbing and storing this heat in order to slowly release it during the night.
